About
My career (so far)
I was lucky enough to be blessed with a very unorthadox education beginning with a middle school and high school education at Abington Friends School. After graduating from Marlboro College in 2002 with a B.A. in Media Production and Hip Hop Culture. I bounced around the east coast working on independent films serving as a script supervisor and editor. After booking an editing job in Oakland CA for 6 months I knew I wanted to be on the west coast and prepared to move to Los Angeles. Once in LA I was hired by Out of the Blue Entertainment and served as an Assistant to Sid and Nancy Ganis. After 2 invaluable years I set out on my own and took a job producing the pilot for Street Sessions: Los Angeles. Working with the shows creator William Scripps we funded and produced the Street Soccer focused pilot. After Street Sessions wrapped I was hired by West Coast Jewelry and became their photographer and retoucher and then creative director. After my 4 year stay at WCJ and becoming the longest tenured employee at the company, I set out my own to start a style centric portrait and product photography business.
About my photography:
With my background in film and video production I’m no stranger to lights and strobes, that being said I love natural night. I absolutely believe we as photographers have to not only capture the image of our subjects, we have to paint them with the best light possible to capture the perfect picture. This carries over very specifically to my other specialty which is product photography and retouching. I cut my teeth photographing, perhaps the most difficult subject possible, jewelry. Highly reflective, and very small, I learned the technical side of product photography quickly and shot and touched up thousands of pictures every year.
